Recordings of all our recent webinars now available on our YouTube channel
Since November we have been running free webinars in partnership with Rosemary Campbell-Stephens MBE (veteran educator, leadership consultant, coach and speaker on equity and social justice). Visit our updated YouTube channel to watch recordings of our first three webinars:
Our YouTube channel also features an introduction to 3L: Language and literacy for learning, The course addresses central issues about language in the current Ofsted framework and provides a clear route to teaching disciplinary literacy across the curriculum, an approach promoted by The Education Endowment Foundation. Further details can be found on our website here.
Last week we were delighted to host a group of school leaders who have demonstrated fantastic EAL practice in our webinar Celebrating the EAL Quality Mark. Click here to watch the session recording. Read about the top ten things that we have seen in those schools making a huge difference for EAL pupils. Get details of how to register for the EAL Quality Mark here.
More of our courses go online
We are not planning to schedule any in-person delegate courses for the foreseeable future, but we are still creating new online courses, including one designed specifically for teaching assistants. Our range of short online courses (requiring approximately 12-15 hours of study) are available to complete at any time:
Our six unit online EAL course, accredited by the University of Greenwich, is now in its ninth year. We will welcome the next cohorts on 15 May and 15 June. Email contact@theealacademy.co.uk to request a booking form.
Look out for additional online courses we will launch over the next few months:
Effective partnership for EAL CPD
The latest issue of International School Leader Magazine includes an article by James Cathcart, Director of the British Section at the Lycée International in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, about our long professional development relationship. “This initiative has given us an approach to literacy rooted in theory and practice and customised precisely to our circumstances and requirements.” Read the full article here: ISL Magazine Apr 21 Effective partnership for EAL CPD.
