Alice Washbourne


Alice is an outstanding trainer, coach and consultant, with a specialist knowledge and expertise in whole-school literacy and EAL. Alice has more than 20 years’ experience in teaching, leadership, teacher development, and school improvement in schools across London. She has written a range of high quality materials for teachers, including the EAL Pocketbook (Teachers’ Pocketbooks) and National Literacy Strategy resources. Alice has a proven a track record of raising pupils’ attainment through improved inclusive teaching and learning with an explicit focus on language and literacy. Her previous roles include EAL and Literacy Coordinator at Swanlea School in Tower Hamlets, KS3/4 English and Literacy Consultant in Islington and Advisor for Equalities and Achievement in Lewisham.
