Asta Tapera

Asta worked as an English teacher at a mainstream secondary school in Lithuania before moving to the UK and has taught at a large multicultural school in Peterborough since 2011. As EAL Leader she has implemented a range of teaching and learning strategies. These have improved both the progress of EAL learners and whole school ethos in regard to the diverse school community. Being a bilingual teacher allows Asta to empathise with EAL learners, their families and, most importantly, have a good understanding of their needs. She completed a National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership, which was based on ‘Narrowing the Gap between EAL and Non-EAL in Maths’.
