Mary Maybank

Mary has led the Central Ethnic Minority Achievement Hub (CEMA) since it started out as the Primary West Midlands EAL Hub in 2007. She has worked in the field of EAL for 16 years and is now working as an independent language in education consultant for schools across the West Midlands.

She is experienced at conducting school EAL audits, advising on EAL provision and at developing whole school policies. Mary works in partnership with school SLTs to plan EAL CPD and teaching programmes. She delivers training days and twilight sessions as well as providing coaching within the classroom. She supports schools in setting up effective EAL provision and raising the achievement of EAL pupils.
